So as to not bring you three straight sports posts, I’ll talk about my observations from Week One of the NFL season later. For now, I’ll move on to other things.
There’s not too awful much going on these days. Work has been nuts lately, but I suppose that’s just how it is sometimes. Luke is getting bigger and more mobile. Also louder. He never was very vocal, but lately he’s been squealing a lot and calling out for “Dadadadadadada” or “Mamamamamama”, or the ever-popular “Nyanyanyanyanya”. Not sure what that one is. He’s starting to pull himself on to his feet, so we moved his mattress down a bit to prevent the inevitable crib escape. Also his new favorite game is running away from whoever is getting ready to give him his bath. We’ll put him on the bathroom floor and turn on the water, and he’ll turn around and laugh hysterically while crawling for his life. It’s pretty hilarious.
In breaking news, I just went outside and noticed the Eagles flag on my car window is missing. I can’t imagine who would want to steal an Eagles flag, and I can’t imagine it flew off my car silently, since it’s pretty much latched on to the window. So that’s kind of weird.
I’m working on (very) slowly becoming a Photoshop expert, so I’ll be starting a Flickr page here pretty soon which I’ll update (very) gradually. So that link will be showing up eventually. Zimm’s forthcoming gallery is bound to be better, so keep your eyes open for that one.
I don’t know what the deal is lately, but I just haven’t been able to come up with anything interesting to post about. Have I gotten more boring since Luke was born? Maybe it’s the football season that’s turned my brain to mush when it comes to any kind of commentary that doesn’t involve full-contact sports. Speaking of which, I’ve basically given up on my running commentary of the UFC event, but I’m still planning on doing a column about the sport itself at some point.
Song of the Day: “South Saturn Delta”, by Jimi Hendrix. This is just a sweet instrumental.
