So as an update on the chili cookoff, my chili took second (by one vote--they had to bring in a few more judges to break the tie). It was a guy even fatter than me who won. Go figure. I was a pretty good bloodied up zombie, but I guess with all the gore on TV these days, the kids weren't scared of me. I know this because all of my candy is gone. I asked my four-year-old nephew if I could have some of his, and he made no bones about telling me that next year I could dress up and go trick-or-treating my own self. Then I could have some candy without getting any of his.
In other news, I found the best chinese restaurant I've been to since I left the east coast. I've been looking for a good General Tso Chicken forever (known in my house as Chairman Mao chicken; or just "Chairman Mao" for short. i.e.: "I could sure go for some Chairman Mao"), and now I've found it. It's even got those little red peppers in it. They'll burn your face off if you eat them, but they sure do spice up a dinner well enough.
To break away from the topic of food, my Eagles are 7-0 for the first time in franchise history. Good times. Regardless of who says what, the Terrell Owens dance in the end zone yesterday was hilarious. Ray Lewis talks trash for months and then gets all bent out of shape when he gets schooled and T.O. does his dance.
Smells like sour grapes to me. Here's what Ray Lewis said: "I didn't see it, not at all. Like I said, if you are going to play a football game, don't be a coward and wait until you make one play and do something, just play football. His celebration doesn't mean anything." So let me get this straight: if you wait until you do something to celebrate, you're a coward? Should he have done the dance after the huddle broke? Should you only celebrate when you don't do something? In that case, why wasn't Ray-Ray celebrating? Also, this whole thing about one play--T.O. caught 8 passes for 101 yards and a TD against a defense that hadn't given up a touchdown in about 13 quarters. I'm just sayin'.
