As I mentioned yesterday, there was a lot of time spent at the workplace. I shall now expound, though not much. You see, due to boring circumstances that would take too long to explain, I have to work from 6am to 8pm until Thursday. I'm in management at the facility where I work, and I'm the only one here till then. Fun stuff. But at least I don't have it the worst. Our Training Coordinator (also in management) had to go to Muncie and work the same hours. You couldn't pay me enough to do that. Yes you could, but the point is I wouldn't want to. Actually she's only there till Wednesday, but I felt so bad for her that I told her to take Thursday off. Part of that was because it's her week to work Saturday, but I digress. So that's why the white man is bringing me down.
But we're not stopping there with the white man, ladies and gentlemen. I recently watched two movies about how the white man sucks: Rosewood and Baaadaaaaaasssssss!!!! (give or take a few a's and s's). Both were excellent, but I won't take the time right now to write extensive reviews, seeing as how I'm running on 6 hours sleep over the last two days. Anyway, it was easy to relate to the films, seeing as how I'm a white guy in my mid-twenties. Oh wait. But seriously, I can recommend both of them. They're very different films, as Rosewood takes place in the 1920's and involves the false accusation of a black man in an offense against a white woman, and Badass! is about the making of the first "blaxploitation" film Sweet Sweetback's Baaadaaasss Song. It's written, directed, and starred in by Mario Van Peebles, whose father Melvin made the aforementioned movie. Be prepared for some fairly strong sexuality with this one, though. It's not Monster's Ball graphic, but it's not shy either. Rosewood is done by John Singleton.
I'm looking forward to checking out 24 tonight (all hail TiVo), so hopefully Luke will allow that. The poor kid hasn't been sleeping so well, and when he's tired but not sleeping, he lets us know about it.
Song of the Day: Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't Fear the Reaper" Can you listen to this song without seeing the SNL sketch in your head? I can't. More cowbell.
