A Couple of Quick Notes

Those who have barbecued with me know that I take great pride in my burgers. Yesterday I think I made my best ones yet. I know Independence Day is over, and everyone got a fill of grilling for at least a little bit, but let me just give you a tip for the next time you cook up some burgers. Chop up part of a vidalia onion and combine it with the raw meat before you grill it up. Of course, it probably makes the meat a bit harder to pack into a patty if that's all you put in it. I'll tell you what I do to remedy this situation: add some barbecue sauce, some honey mustard dressing (Marzetti's is good), a bit of Gulden's spicy brown mustard, a squeeze of lemon juice, and whatever spices you like. I also like to throw in just a little grated cheese, but that's just me. It's also imperative, of course, that you mash this all together with your bare hands. There's simply nothing else capable of mixing this conglomeration together. This will make you one heck of a burger. You'll have to make sure it's not too dry, though, or it'll fall apart on the grill. And don't forget the Worcestershire sauce during the cooking. Top it off with whatever cheese you like, throw it on a bun, and enjoy. Simple and delicious. You really don't even need more condiments. Of course, I've never been a ketchup fan myself, so if you feel it necessary to ruin such a wondrous creation with tomato syrup, be my guest. Just don't tell me about it. I like to put some Miracle Whip on the bun, and maybe some bacon and lettuce if I've got some hanging around.

In other news, my mom's blog is up and functional. I'm going to try and spruce it up this weekend when I get around to it. The beautiful thing is that when I say "weekend" I mean "tomorrow starting at 2:00". That's right ladies and gentlemen, it's a three-day weekend followed by a four-day weekend with two days of work in between. But for now, I'm really tired for some reason. Too tired to go over this post for errors, so pardon my rambling, and also too tired to think of a song of the day. I should be back in some blogging form tomorrow.
