Back From the Infirmary. Again.

Yeah, I thought I was out of the woods after my last post, but as it turned out, two days later I was sidelined once again with the cold from Hades.  I didn’t pay it much mind, because I thought, “I was just sick last week…how bad could it be?”  I found that it could be pretty bad.  I had that cough that makes you feel like you’re having a heart attack every time it comes, and I couldn’t breathe because every time I took half a breath I’d start coughing.  The sensitive skin made a triumphant return, and I wore my jacket at work for a couple of days (even on the day when the heater was broken and it was 75 degrees in the center).  I went through 3 days of people taking a double take every time they saw me and saying, “Ooh…you look terrible.  What are you doing at work?”  So that was nice.  Of course, I had just called off two days of work the week before, so I couldn’t call off any more.  I can’t even remember the last time I called off of work before that.

But now I’m back at full strength once again.  Unfortunately, in the meantime I was out of commission on both Valentine’s Day and my anniversary.  I was lucky to be about 70% when we went out for my birthday, though, which we celebrated with the Zimms on Saturday night by treating ourselves to steak dinners (Saturday was two days after Zimm’s birthday and two days before mine).  Nothing like a steak to bring you back to full heath, right?  Anyway, in related news, I should be resuming my multi-blog posts starting immediately.  I wasn’t doing too badly in keeping everything up to date before, so hopefully now that I’ve gotten all this mess out of my system, I’ll be good to go.

By the way, I’m not so sure if it was food poisoning that we had before.  It may have been the stomach flu.  After we had it, it seems a bunch of people started having the same symptoms, with Zimm being one of them.  Also, I don’t know if I mentioned the severe pain that went along with the sickness, but it was there.  It hurt really bad for about a day, and I’m not sure that food poisoning can do that to you.  I suppose it doesn’t matter anyway.

In Luke news, he’s starting to walk more, and he also replies to you now when you talk to him.  I don’t mean he says actual words or anything, but he’ll look back at you and make a sound that maybe he understands.  A normal conversation would go something like this:

Me: What are you doing?
Him:  Ngot.
Me:  Are you getting into something you’re not supposed to?
Him:  Glark.
Me:  That’s Daddy’s.  Put that back.
Him:  Bladoladm LOL.

So it’s always a productive thing when we talk.

I think that’s about it for now.  Be on the lookout for more content coming your way this week on the three blogs.

Song of the Day: “One”, by Metallica.  I just watched the documentary about the making of their last album, Some Kind of Monster.  Excellent stuff, even if you’re only mildly interested in the band.
