Getting in the Groove

So I've been wanting to post again for a while since my last half-asleep mess, but I simply haven't had much to say. It's been busy at work, since I'm essentially working two full-time jobs for the same company. This doesn't work very well, of course, so hopefully my replacement in Fort Wayne will be in place some time in the next couple of weeks. This would be handy for many reasons, not the least of which being that we're expecting the new small person to show up pretty much any time after next week. In the meantime, the weather can't decide what it wants to do here. It snowed two days ago, and it got up to almost 70 degrees today. This, of course, makes everyone in Kokomo sick, including the three people inhabiting this particular abode. Good times. I recover pretty quickly from this kind of thing, but my poor pregnant wife does not have the same sort of luck, what with the shared immune system and such.

If you haven't seen Zimm's blog yet, check it out. I'm thinking about updating my template, but I don't know when I'll be willing to take the time to do it. I know that once I start, I won't be able to stop until it's done. And if I do stop, I'll leave it half-done for too long. But I need to upgrade it, because I need to add the thing that he has on the left column. Very cool.

As for my other writings, I'm in the middle of a brief hiatus over at MMATorch while I'm in transition. Those columns will be coming back soon. I'd like to write more over at the Diary, as I am angered by the Phillies' performance so far this season, but my problem is that I don't have enough access to the games to be able to form a sufficiently informed opinion. I'd like to be able to watch more, as Ryan Howard is the most exciting player we've had since Mike Schmidt, but I'm already buying the NFL pass from DirecTV, and buying the baseball pass in addition would be pretty implausible. They ought to sell individual games, or packages for teams. I'd throw down 50 bucks for a pass to see all the Phillies games, but I can't drop 200 bones for all the games when I won't watch most of them, you know? And now I'm rambling.

In what should be a surprise development, I've updated the Eight Cents blog tonight for the first time since last July. Unfortunately for those who read this blog (except for perhaps Mr. Zimmerman), it's a live running diary of tonight's "American Idol" show. I hadn't done one of those for a while, and this one was a bit rushed, but it was a last minute thing and I enjoyed doing it.

So to wrap up, I have said nothing of great significance. Enjoy your Tuesday evening. Also, watch this. My wife thinks it is awful, and I think it is hilarious. You decide.
