East Coast Ramblings

So I had planned on updating more while I was out here, but we've been staying with my in-laws, and they have dial-up internet access, so the small amount of surfing I've done has been at my parents' house where there is high-speed.

It feels like we've been crazy busy all week, and yet I have little idea what we've done. I know we left really early last Saturday morning, and we'll be leaving really early again tomorrow morning, but in between has been a blur. We went to my sister's graduation ceremony on Tuesday night. But really, what do you say about a graduation? Is any high school graduation different from any other? Not that I've experienced. Some crowds may be a bit more excited than others, depending on whether graduating high school is a big deal or not. For us, graduating high school was always just an expectation, so we didn't really get all that worked up about it. But anyway, enough about that.

One development is that I've gotten back into baseball. I've always been a Phillies fan, but since the strike back in '94, I was really jaded towards the sport. I kind of started following again a couple of years ago, but just to the point where I would check scores on the internet and whatnot. But now after being back here, I'm back to where I could watch every game. Of course, that doesn't mean I'll go and buy the MLB pass from DirecTV like I do with the NFL season pass. That would be crazy talk. I'd never have time to watch my money's worth what with all the other TV I watch. But I'll be more excited now when the Phils are on ESPN. (It's hard for me to watch them play the Braves or Cubs on their respective Superstations, because I can't stomach the announcers.)

Yesterday we went up to Intercourse, PA with Joel and Amelia. That's not the kind of town that the name makes it out to be, so get your minds out of the gutter. It's actually part of the Pennsylvania Dutch community. So we went up there and hung out and such. Good times. It was great to see them again, since we hadn't seen them since we lived in Utah (we moved from there in April of last year). I'd go into more detail, but the room that I'm typing in is quite hot, and I'm starting to sweat.

One of the first items of business when I get back home is to really gear up for our forthcoming media critic site (Eight Cents). I'm pretty excited about that. Anyway, Luke just woke up, so I've got to get rolling.

Song of the Day: "Hell Yes", by Beck. I don't remember much about this song--I just know I heard a lot of Beck's new album, Guero, on the airplane. This is the only title I remember. I just wanted to acknowledge that the album is really good from what I heard.
